The automatic transmission oil level is checked with the engine running and the selector position in P or N mode.

1.  Warm up the engine to a temperature of up to 50 -80 ° C and drive a car for several kilometers. This will contribute to a more active draining of the old fluid from the automatic transmission. 

Park the vehicle on a level, level surface and turn off the ignition.

Move the shift lever through all ranges and lock it in the P or N position .

Raise the hood cover and secure it with the stop.

Pull the oil level indicator (dipstick) out of the guide tube.

Wipe the oil dipstick of the Nissan X-Trail automatic transmission with a clean, lint-free cloth or special paper.

Install the dipstick all the way into the guide tube so that the protrusion on its handle is located on the opposite side of the retainer on the tube.

Remove the oil dipstick again and determine the oil level of the Nissan X-Trail automatic transmission. It must be between the MIN and MAX marks.

If the level is closer or lower to the  “MIN” mark  , you need to add oil to the automatic transmission.

Insert a funnel into the oil level indicator tube.

Bring fluid to normal.
