Note:
Do not mix liquids of different colors and different manufacturers. If you do not know the brand of fluid filled in, replace all fluid in the Nissan X-Trail cooling system.
Try to check the level of antifreeze before each trip of the car, and, if necessary, add liquid to the reservoir.
Check the coolant level on the Nissan X-Trail only when the engine is cold.
What fluid to fill in the Nissan X-Trail cooling system
The engine cooling system uses antifreeze, which consists of ethylene glycol, additives and water. It has a high boiling point and a low freezing point.
Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that the use of poor quality coolant leads to costly engine repairs!
The manufacturer recommends using only genuine Nissan coolant, such as the Nissan L250.
Coolant L248 Premix antifreeze , which replaced the Nissan L250, is also suitable .
The new series of antifreeze is made on the basis of ethylene glycol with the addition of additives, without the use of alcohol.
Checking the Coolant Level Nissan X-Trail
1. Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition. Wait until the engine has completely cooled down (about 2-3 hours).
2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis. The coolant reservoir is located in the front of the engine compartment on the left (when standing in front of the car).
3. Visually check the antifreeze level on the Nissan X-Trail. It should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side wall of the tank.
4. If the fluid level is below the MIN mark , you will need to add fluid.
Topping up coolant on a Nissan X-Trail
1. Wipe the reservoir cap thoroughly with a clean cloth.
2. Unscrew and remove the cover.
3. Add coolant to the Nissan X-Trail reservoir up to the MAX mark.
Note:
Do not fill the fluid reservoir above the MAX mark, as the volume will increase when the engine is running.
4. Screw on the reservoir cap tightly. If antifreeze is spilled on wires, painted or plastic body parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean rag.
Helpful advice:
Check the coolant level on your Nissan X-Trail regularly. Its sharp decrease or increase should be a signal for an immediate check of the engine cooling system.
