Checking the washer fluid level Nissan X-Trail

Note:

Windshield washer fluid is used on the Nissan X-Trail to clean the windshield, rear window and headlights.

The correct choice of washer fluid plays an important role in maintaining the transparency of the glass and good visibility.

The manufacturer does not recommend pouring ordinary water into the Nissan X-Trail washer reservoir.

Washer fluid for Nissan X-Trail

In the summer season, it is recommended to use a concentrate of a special liquid, diluted with clean water. In winter, it is best to use an antifreeze without methanol.

Do not dilute the antifreeze in order to save money, since the cleaning properties of diluted fluid are greatly reduced. 

Checking the washer fluid level Nissan X-Trail

1.  Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition.

2.  Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis. The filler neck of the washer reservoir is installed in the front left side of the engine compartment (when standing in front of the car).

3. Open the windshield washer reservoir cap.

4. Pinch the hole in the center of the washer reservoir cap with your finger and pull out the transparent tube attached to it. Due to the vacuum, the Nissan X-Trail washer fluid will remain in the tube at a level corresponding to the fluid level in the reservoir.

5. By the level of liquid remaining in the tube, determine the level of liquid in the washer reservoir. 

Topping up washer fluid Nissan X-Trail

1. Install a funnel on the windshield washer reservoir.

2. Add washer fluid to the Nissan X-Trail reservoir up to the lower edge of the reservoir neck.

3. Replace the dipstick tube and close the reservoir neck.

4. Wipe up spilled liquid with a clean cloth.
