Most of the power supply circuits of the vehicle's electrical equipment are protected by Skoda Octavia fuses. Headlights, fan motors, fuel pump and other powerful current consumers are connected via relays. Skoda Octavia fuses and relays are installed in mounting blocks located in the engine compartment (Fig. 1299) and the passenger compartment (Fig. 1300) of the car.
Relays and fuses located in the Skoda Octavia fuse box of the engine compartment, as well as the circuits they protect, are shown in Table. 23. The fuses installed in the interior mounting block and the circuits protected by them are indicated in Table. 24.

2. ...carefully pry off the cover with a screwdriver...
3. ... and remove the cover.
NOTE
Tweezers are fixed on the cover to remove the fuses from the mounting blocks.
4. To gain access to the mounting block located in the engine compartment, slide the latches (as shown in the photo) to unlock the fuse box cover ...
5. ... and remove the fuse box cover by lifting it up.

6. Before replacing a blown fuse, find out the cause of the blown and fix it.
WARNING
Do not replace blown Skoda Octavia fuses with jumpers or fuses of a different amperage - this can damage electrical circuits and equipment, and even cause a fire.
NOTE
Fuses are colored in different colors to match a particular amperage.
7. Grab the Skoda Octavia fuse with tweezers ...
8. ... and remove it from the connector
9. Install a fuse of the same rating as the removed one into the connector.
