The budget Polo sedan is in dire need of soundproofing, since the Volkswagen version of the people's car is very noisy and has a completely bare body under the skins and carpeting. To begin with, all vibration-proof material is cut and heated in a special oven to 50 degrees, and all that remains is to disassemble and glue.

1. Soundproofing the hood of the Volkswagen Polo. The hood cover is bare metal, in other ways, like most cars. However, it should be understood that the hood is one and a half square meters of metal that vibrates on the go and makes sounds that we obviously do not hear. Therefore, the hood cover should not be neglected. And we paste over it with SGM M2 vibration isolator, having carefully rolled it over the metal of the hood. And on the standard thermal insulation on its reverse side we apply the heat insulator Splen.

2. Roof soundproofing Volkswagen Polo. On the ceiling of the new Volkswagen Polo, an original noise absorber and vibration isolator, which looks like cardboard, is glued. We carefully peel off this material, preparing the roof for applying vibration isolation and noise absorber.

Degrease the roof.

We apply thick and warm SGM M3 vibration isolation on the metal of the roof, carefully rolling it with metal rollers to achieve maximum adhesion to the metal.

Then we use a thick 10 mm acoustic felt, which performs the function of sound absorption.

3. Soundproofing Volkswagen Polo doors. We glue the doors in four layers. Volkswagen Polo doors are disassembled, degreased and ready for pasting.

The first layer in the door is vibration isolation SGM M3, 3 mm thick.

Next, we glue the second layer, which combines sound insulation and vibration isolation in one material. This is foil Splen on M1 sealant. This material consists of two layers, the first of which is the thinnest vibration isolation (acting as an adhesive), the second is a 5mm noise isolation.

Note: the adhesive decomposes in moisture and ceases to perform its functions, which on the vertical wall of the door is fraught with material peeling off.

The thinnest vibration isolation performs its functions by 100%, reliably holding the material on a vertical plane.

The inner frame of the door also needs vibration isolation and we do it with SGM M2 material

The final layer is a 5 mm Bibiton noise absorber.

4. Soundproofing the floor, arches and trunk of the Volkswagen Polo. Traces of standard vibration isolation are visible in the trunk and on the floor in the cabin.

We glue the trunk floor with the SGM M2 vibration isolator, and on the wheel arches we cover the SGM Bomb vibration isolator (similar to the STP Bimast Bomb), the thickness of which is 4mm.

The rear fenders and arches on the side of the wings are also treated to the maximum with a vibration isolator.

The interior floor is treated with a thick SGM Bomb vibration isolator (similar to STP Bimst Bomb). The floor under the rear seat is treated with vibration isolation SGM M2.

The floor under the feet of the front passengers is raised as high as possible to improve the effect.

The thickness of the vibration isolation on the floor is an impressive 4mm. We put this material necessarily preheated in a special oven.

Then we use the Bibiton noise absorber. On the floor in the cabin, we use 8 mm Bibiton, and in the trunk 5 mm.

In addition, with the third layer we glue the niche of the rear wing and arches with a thick centimeter felt.

This is a reliable protection against noise and the rumble of wheel arches.

We glue the lining of the trunk lid with anti-creak. And the trunk lid is vibration-isolating.

Polo developers still thought about sound insulation and a thick felt carpet lies on the floor. We save it. It is very good and should perfectly work out the absorption of sound.

5. The assembly of the cabin begins.

Door assembly

6. Soundproofing Volkswagen Polo Sedan (Volkswagen Polo) is over. As a result, Polo gained about 60 kilograms in weight, but now it reliably and quietly swallows road bumps, pleases the owner with comfort in the cabin and a pleasant sound of music.
