Exhaust System Components Chery Tiggo

Nodes of system of release of the fulfilled gases:

1 - diagnostic oxygen concentration sensor;

2 – control oxygen concentration sensor;

3 - the main catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases;

4 - exhaust manifold;

5 – a sealing lining of a final collector;

6 - thermal screen;

7 - pillows of nodes of the exhaust gas system;

8 – additional catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases;

9 – laying of flanges of additional and main mufflers;

10 - main muffler;

11 - additional muffler.

Exhaust gases are discharged from the engine through the exhaust manifold -  4 , exhaust gas catalytic converters 3 and 8 , additional silencer -  11 and main silencer -  10 .

Two oxygen concentration sensors are installed on the main catalytic converter: at the inlet of the converter - a control (main) oxygen concentration sensor - 2 , and at the outlet - a diagnostic sensor -  1 .

A metal - reinforced sealing gasket - 5 is installed between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold flange  .

The downpipe of the exhaust system is integral with the main catalytic converter. The downpipe is connected at one end to the exhaust manifold, and at the other end to the flange of the additional catalytic converter -  8 , which, in turn, is connected to the additional muffler -  11 , and the exhaust pipe of the additional muffler is connected to the main muffler downpipe -  10 .

All flange connections of the system are sealed with metal-reinforced gaskets.

Each of the elements of the system can be removed separately without dismantling other elements.

The elements of the system are suspended from the body on seven rubber cushions.

To protect the engine and body base from heating by the elements of the system, a steel thermal screen is installed above the exhaust manifold, and thermal screens are also installed above other elements of the exhaust system.

The exhaust system does not require special maintenance. It is enough to periodically check the reliability of the tightening of the threaded connections and the integrity of the suspension pads. In case of damage to the elements of the system, through corrosion or burnout, they are replaced as an assembly, since the mufflers and the converter, together with the pipes, are non-separable units.

Useful advice:

Periodically check the exhaust system. If there is an increased noise level from the exhaust system, check its tightness. To do this, start the engine and inspect the entire system. By running your hand over the places of a possible leak, without touching the nodes, you will immediately feel the leakage of gases.

Warnings:

Allow the exhaust system to cool before repairing, as the exhaust system becomes very hot when the engine is running.

Exhaust gases are poisonous, their poisoning occurs imperceptibly, so be sure to open the gate before starting the engine in the garage!
