This article describes how to remove the cover on the Skoda engine.
A plastic decorative casing is installed on the Skoda Fabia 2 engine to improve the appearance of the engine compartment and reduce noise levels. This cover must be removed for most engine maintenance work.
The decorative casing is fixed on four ball posts arranged vertically with the help of elastic bushings (the location of the posts is shown with the casing removed).

1. Open the hood by placing it on the stop, as described in this article .
2. Pry up and pull up on the trim cover to release it from the latches.
3. Remove the decorative engine cover from the engine compartment.

Warning:
When the outside temperature is below 0°C, remove the decorative engine cover very carefully. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in damage to the decorative cover.
4. Put the decorative casing on the latches and press it with your hands until the latches snap into place.
