Removal and installation of valve seals in Nissan Qashqai. HR16DE

REMOVAL

1. Remove camshafts. See above.

2. Remove the valve lifters. See above.

3. Turn the crankshaft until the piston of the cylinder on which the oil seal is to be removed is at TDC. This will prevent the valve from falling into the cylinder.

Attention: When turning the crankshaft, do not pinch the timing chain with the front cover.

4. Take out the crackers.

• Compress the valve spring using tool, attachment and adapter (Special: KV10116200) (A). Remove the crackers with a finger magnet (B).

Attention: When carrying out work, do not damage the holes for the valve lifters.

5. Remove the valve spring cup, valve spring and valve spring seat. See below.

6. Remove the valve seal using a puller (special tool: KV10107902)(A).

INSTALLATION

1. Apply fresh engine oil to the new valve seal and lip.

2. Drive in the valve seal with a punch (special tool: KV10115600) (A) to height "H" as shown in the figure.

Height "H": 13.2-13.8 mm 3. After this operation, installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
