Installing the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel

Tools:

• Screwdriver flat medium

Parts and consumables:

• Buttons 4 pcs
• Double-sided adhesive tape

Note:

Finished finalizing the cruise on his car. It seemed to me not very convenient to use the buttons under the steering wheel, and therefore I brought the buttons to the steering wheel, which I had previously bought.

1 . We collect the scheme.

2 . We remove the airbag.

3 . Insert a pin, such as a screwdriver, into the hole on the back of the steering wheel, press and hold.

4 . Pull the airbag away from the middle spoke of the steering wheel.

5 . We find a free chip with wires, and connect our circuit of resistors and buttons.

6 . We attach the buttons to the steering wheel with double-sided tape.

7 . We remove the wires and the circuit in a free place so that in the future it does not touch the airbag, and actually put the airbag back in place.

8 . Since I couldn’t really glue the buttons, I decided to cover it with vinyl and it looks prettier and is fixed normally.

9 . We remove the bottom cover of the steering column and on the left we see a chip into which we connect the wires that came from the ECU from contacts d2 d3.

The contacts from the chip fit well.
