Ford Focus 2 speed sensor replacement
Hello everyone! Since autumn, I began to notice that the speedometer needle often dropped to zero, gasoline consumption also increased (14-16 in winter, 12 in summer) and the car began to twitch when the gas pedal was released. It was decided to order a speed sensor on the existential. Arrived on time (2 days). Then immediately went to the garage and started replacing.
First you need to remove the battery, disassemble the box, remove the battery shelf and remove the air filter housing. The speed sensor is located near the left drive on the gearbox (B5 / IB5). After you have found the sensor, you need to disconnect the plug from it and pull out the fastening pin (many pull it out with difficulty, in my case it came out without problems), and then pull the sensor out of the seat (there were also no difficulties, pulled it out with one hand without tools ). It is advisable to clean the area around the sensor from dirt (so as not to get into the gearbox). O-rings on the new sensor must be lubricated with engine oil and the sensor inserted into the hole, and then attached with a pin. It remains only to plug the plug and assemble everything in the reverse order.
As a result, consumption fell to 8.8-9 in the city.
New ERA sensor (Italy)
Sensor wiring.
Old speed sensor and pin.
Sensor seat (it is desirable to remove the dirt around so that it does not get into the gearbox).
