Tool:

  • Box wrench curved 17 mm
  • Chain wrench (if needed)

Parts and consumables:

  • Engine flush
  • Motor oil
  • Technical capacity
  • Oil filter
  • rags
  • Funnel

Notes:

We change the oil in the engine in accordance with the maintenance schedule every 15 thousand kilometers (it can be reduced to 7-10 thousand kilometers, this will only benefit).

We perform work on a viewing ditch or overpass.
We carry out the replacement on an idle engine (preferably immediately after the trip), until the oil has cooled down.

WARNING:

Be careful, the oil is hot.

To flush the engine using the five-minute method, do the following:

1. Open the hood as described here .

2. To flush the engine, turn the oil filler plug counterclockwise and remove it.

We remove the oil filter, clean the filter seat on the engine from dirt and oil drips.

If the filter cannot be removed manually, then loosen the filter with a puller.

5.  Apply engine oil to the filter o-ring.

Note:

It is necessary to lubricate the sealing ring of the filter so that it is easier to tighten it, otherwise the rubber band will resist, the filter will not spin completely and then unscrew somewhere along the way. Oil flows through it quickly.

6. Fill the new oil filter with oil.

7.  We wrap the oil filter by hand until the sealing ring touches the flange of the oil pan. Then turn the filter another 3/4 turn to seal the connection.

8. Fill the engine with oil as described here and replace the oil filler cap.

Note:

We start the engine for 1-2 minutes. We make sure that the indicator of insufficient (emergency) oil pressure in the engine has gone out in the instrument cluster, and there are no oil leaks from under the plug and filter. Tighten the drain plug and filter if necessary. We stop the engine, after a few minutes (so that the oil has time to drain into the oil pan), we check the oil level and bring it to normal, as described here .

USEFUL TIPS:

To facilitate topping up the oil, it is convenient to use a funnel. In the absence of a funnel for adding oil, you can make a funnel from the neck of a plastic bottle.
