Changing the engine oil and oil filter Skoda Octavia

Tool:

• Key with Torx tip (asterisk) Т-25
• Key with Torx tip (asterisk) Т-30
• Key with Torx tip (asterisk) Т-45
• repair key

Parts and consumables:

• Oil filter Skoda Octavia
• Oil Castrol Magnatec 5W-40 C3 (API SM) 5L
• New drain plug Skoda Octavia

1.  It all starts with the removal of the plastic bottom protection, for this we will need to unscrew 8 bolts with a T-25 key and 3 bolts with a T-30 key.

2. Having removed the protection, a drain plug appears right in front of us, we unscrew it with a T-45 key, after unscrewing the oil fill cap.

Note:

Do not forget to substitute any container for about 5 liters, so that there is where to merge the oil.

3. After the oil has drained, unscrew the oil filter using a filter remover.

4. Then it is pulled out without any problems, taking the rubber hose that runs right above it towards the windshield.

5. Before installing a new oil filter, it is advisable to lubricate its rubber sealing ring with oil.

Note:

Having installed the oil filter, as recommended on some forums, without tightening the drain plug, I poured about 200-300 g of oil until it poured a light color from the drain hole.

6. After that, we twist a new drain plug and pour oil into the engine.

Warning:

We twist the drain plug not very hard so as not to break the thread.
