Note:

The pump is removed if it is necessary to repair or replace it, if antifreeze leaks from the pump shaft seal, if the noise during operation is higher than usual.

The water pump is mounted at the front of the engine under the generator. Before changing the pump to the Nissan X-Trail, you will first need to drain the coolant, remove the drive belt and alternator.

9.  Check the mutual tension of the tensioner marks. With a new belt, the arrow will point to the top of the range. Over time, as the belt wears and stretches, mark  1  will gradually shift.

10. Fill the engine cooling system by slowly pouring coolant into the radiator to the level of the vapor tube.

Note:

To prevent air locks from forming, pour antifreeze into the radiator very slowly (filling speed should not exceed 2 liters per minute).

11.  Close the radiator cap tightly.

Note:

When the engine is running, the cooling system is under pressure, so coolant may leak from under a loosely wrapped plug or the plug may be torn off.

12.  Add antifreeze to the expansion tank up to the “MAX” mark.

Note:

Do not fill the fluid reservoir above the MAX mark, as the volume will increase when the engine is running.

13.  Tightly wrap the tank lid. If antifreeze is spilled on wires, painted or plastic body parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean rag.
