- Original cabin filter Mazda BBP2-61-J6X or Mazda BBP2-61-J6X9A
According to routine maintenance, the Mazda 3 BL cabin filter is replaced every 15 thousand km. run. Even if the quality of the filter element itself is high enough, particles of debris and dust will inevitably penetrate into the combustion chamber and reduce the ignition efficiency.
If an unpleasant smell is felt in the cabin during the operation of the air conditioner, replace the filter and do not wait until the above limit is reached. Keeping your filter clean will greatly improve the performance and quality of your air conditioner.
The filter element on Mazda 3 (BL) consists of two parts: upper and lower, located one above the other in the housing.
Signs of the need to replace the Mazda 3 cabin filter:
- internal fogging of car windows;
- unpleasant odors in the cabin;
- when ventilation is running, dust is noticeable in the cabin;
- feeling of humidity in the cabin;
- feeling of a weak air flow when the air conditioner or stove is turned on.
Note:
Install the new filter element with the utmost care to avoid damaging it.
For more convenient access to the Mazda 3 cabin filter, you can remove the glove compartment. We will show how the replacement is done without removing it.
The air intake filters are located under the plastic side trim on the passenger side.

Note:
When installing the Mazda 3 cabin filter, make sure that the filters are correctly positioned among themselves: the arrows on the element housings should be opposite each other and directed backwards. The protrusion of the lower part of the filter must fit into the groove of the upper part.
The correct location of the Mazda 3 cabin filters
It is very important to correctly and evenly insert new elements into the housing.
There are guides on the far wall of the filter housing.
Inserting the upper element, you need to get into the guides on the far wall and into the guides on the near wall. Then lift the filter up. It should snap into place, lock tightly, and not fall down. After that, install the lower element.
16. Assemble the structure in reverse order.

Types of cabin filters
There are two types of cabin filters: carbon and anti-dust. Anti-dust elements retain only fluff, soot, plant pollen and dust. The coal versions contain activated carbon, which contributes not only to mechanical purification of the air, but also to the absorption of substances harmful to humans. Also, such a filter does not let unpleasant odors into the cabin, such as fumes or exhausts from other cars.
