Note:

The need to replace the thermostat with a Nissan Qashqai may arise when the engine temperature is unstable: overheating or insufficient heating. To check the thermostat on a car, start a cold engine and touch the hose from the connector to the pipe of the thermostat cover (shown by the arrow in the photo below) with your hand - it should be cold.

After the coolant temperature reaches 80-84 ° C, the hose should begin to heat up quickly, which indicates the beginning of the circulation of the liquid in a large circle. If this does not happen, and the coolant temperature sensor and engine control unit are OK, replace the thermostat.

Replacement thermostat Nissan Qashqai

1. Drain the liquid from the engine cooling system.

2. Loosen the connecting hose clamp by squeezing its bent ears with pliers.

3. Move the clamp to the side.

4. Remove the hose from the fitting.

5. In the same way remove a hose from a branch pipe of the thermostat.

6. Turn out 2 bolts of fastening of the case of the thermostat Nissan Qashqai to the engine.

7. Remove the body.

8. Remove the thermostat from the engine.

Note:

The opening temperature of the valve is indicated on its body.

Advice:

To check, lower the thermostat removed from the Nissan Qashqai engine into a container of water. Heat the water, stirring constantly, to a temperature of 80-84 ° C. With a further increase in temperature, the thermostat rod should begin to move out of the power element. At a liquid temperature of 95-97 ° C, the thermostat should open completely. If it doesn't, replace the thermostat.

9. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

When installing the thermostat, position it in the bore of the cylinder block with the drain hole at the top.

10. Fill in a liquid in the engine cooling system and remove air from it.
