There is an opinion that it is advisable to change the pusher of the high pressure fuel pump, as well as the oil separator, every about 60 thousand km ...
To replace the pusher of the high pressure fuel pump, you need:
- O-ring WHT005184 is the last one that is currently being produced
- Pusher 06L109311, also an extreme revision
- Tool:
- Wrench 18, 19 (open-end)
- Torx 30
- Round nose pliers (needle nose pliers)
- laptop with VAG-com
We connect the computer with Vag-com to the car, start the engine, at XX we go to the Engine Block - a new type of measurement - we are looking for a channel with pressure readings in the fuel line, in fact everything is written in the instructions, you will see below, but I never found this channel ... Well, okay, we remove fuse No. 3, which is located in the left compartment of the dashboard, the second column (brown) and wait a few seconds, the fuel pump stops supplying gasoline to the high pressure fuel pump, thereby reducing the pressure in the fuel line.
We unscrew the nut from the fuel supply fitting to the high pressure fuel pump
Attention! The nut itself is 18, it is necessary to hold the upper part with a key of 19.
the key is 18, but the size is rare ... It is necessary to put a rag in advance so that the remaining gasoline does not spill, in my case there was very little of it.
Then, with a key on the T30, unscrew 2 bolts of the high pressure fuel pump housing
They unscrewed with great difficulty for me, even one key was damaged and broken off, so I had to remove the oil separator, it didn’t take much time (I had already removed it 2 times before),
the high pressure fuel pump is removed, we remove the pusher itself
pusher still inside
removed with round nose pliers. And here is a comparison of the old and new pushers:
old / new
We change the sealing ring, put everything in its place, tighten the bolts evenly so that the pump stands up without distortion, connect the fuel line fitting with keys 18 and 19, put the fuse in place and start the engine, check that nothing is leaking and that's it. Here are the instructions for replacing the high pressure fuel pump. And for starters, a general photo where the high pressure fuel pump itself is located:
And of course, don't forget to clean up the bugs!
This is what the error looks like after removing the fuse.
