Replacing the fuel tank Skoda Octavia

Tool:

• car support
• Open-end wrench 10 mm
• Open-end wrench 13 mm
• Key with Torx tip (asterisk) Т25
• Screwdriver flat medium

Parts and consumables:

• New fuel tank Skoda Octavia

Note:

It is more convenient to remove an empty tank while working on a lift, overpass or inspection ditch. To remove residual fuel, remove the fuel pump module and pump out the fuel through the opened hole in the tank.

1.  Place the vehicle on a lift or pit.

2.  Reduce the pressure in the supply system. See here for how to do it .

3.  Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery. You need a 10 key.

4.  Raise the rear seat cushion and remove the fuel pump module access cover and disconnect the harness connector from the fuel pump module connector.

5. Open the filler cap.

6. Remove the sunroof module. You will need a Torx T25 wrench. See here for how to do it .

7. Place a support under the fuel tank.

8. Release from the holder an electric wire from a bulk mouth.

9. Turn out two bolts of fastening of a bulk mouth to a car body. You need a key for 13.

10. Remove the additional muffler. See here for how to do it .

11. Wring out a clamp a screw-driver.

12. Disconnect the air removal hose from the fuel tank.

13. Remove the fuel filter.

14. Turn out two bolts of fastening of an extension of a fuel tank and two bolts of fastening of a tank to a body. key for 13.

15. Remove the fuel tank.

Note:

The fuel tank is quite heavy, so remove it with an assistant.

16.  Install the fuel tank and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

17.  After connecting the pipelines and the fuel pump wiring harness, fill the tank with gasoline, start the engine and check the tightness of all pipeline connections.
