Note:
The frequency of replacing the fuel filter on the Hyundai ix35 is 15 thousand km.
1. Remove the battery as described in this article .
2. Raise the brackets for fastening the pads of the electronic engine control unit (ECU) and disconnect the pads (first remove the right pad, and then the left).
3. Turn off three bolts of fastening of EBU and remove it.
Removed ECU and battery.
4. Remove the wire blocks from the fuel filter heater.
5. Press the green fuel tube retainers and pull the tubes off the filter hoses. (put a rag under the pipes, a small amount of fuel will flow out of them).
6. Turn off fastenings of the case of the fuel filter and remove the case together with the filter.
7. Unscrew the water sensor from the fuel filter and drain the fuel into a jar.
8. Turn off two nuts of fastening of the case of the filter and take the filter from the case.
9. Clamp the fuel filter heater in a vise and unscrew the fuel filter with a special puller.

Note:
Be careful not to lose the O-ring on the threads of the fuel filter heater. When installing a new filter, lubricate the O-ring with fuel.

10. Assemble and install the fuel filter in the reverse order of removal.
Note:
After installing the fuel filter, turn the ignition on and off several times (5-8 times) to pump fuel into the filter to start the car.
