The fuel filter is located under the rear right wheel in a secluded area. It was not convenient for me to photograph it, and it was dirty there, so the photo turned out like this:
Location of the fuel filter on the VW Polo Sedan.
Before replacing the filter, you need to reduce the pressure in the fuel system, to do this, remove the cover of the fuse box and remove fuse No. 36 at 15A and start the car, after a few seconds the car will stall - the pressure has dropped, we proceed to the replacement. On the left of the filter there is a fuel outlet wire (it is one), and on the right there are two, inlet and return. First, we remove the right two, their latches are in plain sight (black and blue), you need to drown the latch by pressing it with your finger (they push through quite a bit) and pull off the fitting. Next, unscrew the screw that holds the filter itself (on the clamp) and remove the filter, which will hang on one fuel outlet wire, which will become accessible and conveniently removed. We assemble the new filter in the reverse order, without confusing the supply and return fuel wires (on the right). The protrusion on the filter housing must fit into the corresponding recess in the filter bracket. We put the fitting until the latch clicks. Install the fuse back. We turn on the ignition, then turn it off and turn it on again, wait until the pump pumps and start.
