- You will need: socket heads “for 10”, “for 13”, keys for “10”, “for 12”, “for 17”, “for 22”, screwdrivers with a flat and cross-shaped blade, pliers, a container with a capacity of at least 10 l. to drain coolant.
- 1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
- 2. Remove the crankcase protection and the right engine mudguard (see "Removing and installing the crankcase protection and engine mudguards").
- 3. Drain the liquid from the engine cooling system.
- 4. Remove the accessory drive belt (see "Replacing the accessory drive belt").
- 5. Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to the TDC position of the compression stroke (see "Setting the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position of the compression stroke").
- 6. Remove the timing belt (see "Replacing the timing belt and its rollers").
- 7. Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump to the block of cylinders.
- 8. Pry with a screwdriver ...
- 9. ... and remove the water pump.
- 10. Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and water pump from the old gasket.
- NOTE
- When installing the water pump, replace the gasket with a new one.
- 11. Install the water pump and all parts in the reverse order of removal.
- 12. Fill in coolant and remove air plugs from the cooling system (see "Replacing the coolant").
