Note:
Before removing the lock on a Honda Civic, first remove the trunk lid trim.
Removing the trunk lid trim Honda Civic
1. Raise the trunk lid.
2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the cores and remove the 4 caps of the upper casing fastening.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out and pull out the 6 clips on the lower casing fastening.
4. Remove trim.
Note:
Some drivers, in order to replace the trunk lock on a Honda Civic, remove the caps on the upper fastening of the trunk trim and bend the trim down without removing it completely.
Honda Civic trunk lock replacement
1. Disconnect the latch of the sheath of the lock drive cable from the lock bracket.
2.
Disconnect the spherical tip of the
Honda Civic trunk lock drive cable from the lock lever .
3. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block from the lock.
4. Using a 10 mm head, remove the 2 Honda Civic trunk lock bolts.
5. Remove the lock from the trunk lid.
6. Unfasten a clamp and disconnect draft of the switch of the lock.
7. Remove the trunk lid lock.
8. If necessary, replace the Honda Civic trunk lock with a new one.
9. Lubricate the moving parts of the lock with a suitable lubricant.
10. Install the lock and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
