Note:
Over time, resinous deposits from the crankcase gases accumulate in the crankcase ventilation system, making it difficult to exhaust these gases into the engine cylinders for combustion. Because of this, the pressure of the gases inside the engine rises and oil begins to leak through the seals. To avoid this, periodically clean and flush the system.
Cleaning the crankcase ventilation system Hyundai Santa Fe
1. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Removing and installing the decorative engine cover", page 67).
2. Squeeze the bent ears of the clamp of the large branch of the crankcase ventilation to the fitting of the air inlet hose, slide the clamp along the hose.

3. Disconnect the hose from the fitting.

4. Squeeze the bent lugs on the large crankcase ventilation hose clamp to the fitting on the front head cover. Slide the clamp over the hose.

5. Remove the large branch crankcase ventilation hose.

6. Squeeze the bent lugs of the small crankcase ventilation hose clamp to the fitting on the receiver. Slide the clamp over the hose.

7. Disconnect the hose from the fitting.

8. Squeeze the bent lugs of the small crankcase ventilation clamp to the fitting on the rear cylinder head cover. Swing the clamp over the hose.

9. Remove the hose of the small branch of the crankcase ventilation.

10. Wash the crankcase ventilation hoses from deposits with gasoline or kerosene, blow them with compressed air and dry them.
11. Install the hoses of the large and small branches of the crankcase ventilation in the reverse order of removal.
