Parts and consumables:

  • Rags (if necessary)
  • Funnel (if needed)
  • Brake fluid (DOT-4 type)

Notes:

Maintaining the correct level of brake fluid is necessary for the correct operation of the vehicle's braking system. Therefore, it is recommended to check the brake fluid level before each ride. You also need to change the brake fluid  every two to three years. When changing the brake fluid, first make sure that its characteristics match the characteristics of the fluid filled into the system. When topping up, use fluids that meet DOT-4 specifications.

The Fiat Doblo brake fluid reservoir is located on the brake master cylinder towards the left side of the car.

Warning:

Avoid getting brake fluid on painted parts - it is highly toxic. If this does happen, wipe them off immediately with a clean cloth or rinse off the liquid with water. If brake fluid accidentally comes into contact with your skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water.

1.  Park the vehicle on a level surface, turn off the engine and  open the hood .

2.  Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. There are MIN  and MAX marks on the tank  indicating the "minimum" and "maximum" levels.

Warning:

Do not allow the liquid level to drop below the  MIN mark .

3.  To add fluid to the reservoir, turn and remove the reservoir cap. The brake fluid reservoir cap turns counterclockwise.

Helpful Hints:

You can use a funnel to avoid spilling the liquid.

Pay attention to the color of the liquid. Fresh brake fluid has a clear yellowish tint. Brake fluid darkens with use as impurities accumulate in it. When the liquid darkens to brown or black, one refill is not enough. Drain the old brake fluid and replace with new. This is a clear sign that it is time to flush the hydraulic brake system and add the correct amount of new fluid.
