Parts and consumables:

  • Power Steering Fluid
  • rags
  • Funnel (if necessary)

Notes:

We check the fluid level in the hydraulic booster reservoir at each maintenance, as well as when a fluid leak is detected from the booster hydraulic drive, when steering efficiency decreases or extraneous noise (howling) appears when the steering wheel is rotated.
It is important to locate the leak as accurately as possible, as it is likely that a worn or damaged part will need to be replaced.

The reservoir is located on the power steering pump on the right side of the engine compartment next to the radiator.

Notes:

Be careful to avoid "overfilling" your power steering unit with fluid. It is better to keep the liquid level within acceptable limits than to fill the reservoir with too much of it. If you fill the reservoir to the very neck, and then go on a trip in this car, then the increase in pressure can lead to problems and lead to costly repairs.

USEFUL TIPS:

It is convenient to use a funnel to facilitate topping up the liquid. In the absence of a funnel for adding oil, you can make a funnel from the neck of a plastic bottle.
