On a Renault Duster car, an air conditioner is optionally installed, which is involved in maintaining certain climatic conditions in the car. Most of the time the A/C is off and no torque is transferred from the engine to its compressor. When the air conditioner is turned on, the electric clutch is turned on, through which the torque from the engine is transmitted to the air conditioner compressor, thereby activating it.
The electrical circuits for turning on the electrical clutch for the Renault Duster 1.6 and 2.0 engine differ slightly.
So for the 1.6 engine, a more powerful fuse is used, and there is also a difference in the color wiring from the clutch control relay to the electronic engine control unit.
(Electric diagram for switching on the electrical clutch of the Renault Duster air conditioner, see above)
The fuses responsible for the operation of the air conditioner are located in the engine compartment. So, fuse 62 is responsible for powering the control relay, and fuses 21 and 61 are responsible for powering the electric clutch.
