We need: a new cover cap (filter element), a cleaner for the air conditioner, a DNS canister of compressed air
Prevention kit:
So from the engine side, after removing the motor shield, good access to the protective air intake grille is provided. Unfortunately, this grille only protects against large leaves and therefore a filter element from UAZ is needed. The function of this filter is to prevent a lot of dust and fluff from entering the ventilation system.
1. Remove the outdoor air intake grille
Note : After removing the grate - we wash it and without changes in the filter element - we pull it onto the grate. To make the filter sit more firmly, we stretch an elastic band over it from above.
2. A new filter element is pulled onto the air intake grille
Note : From the passenger side, the glove compartment had to be completely removed in order to gain access to the fan to clean it.
The glove box is removed - here it is the fan of the ventilation system:
3. The fan is mounted on 4 Torx T15 screws - disconnect all connectors and unscrew the screws. The fan can now be removed for cleaning the blades and surfaces. As you can see in the photo, the fan motor is dirty, the blades are also dirty, although not very much - we clean everything with compressed air and a cleaning spray.
4. The fan is removed and needs to be cleaned
5. Also, with the help of a spray and a cloth, we clean all surfaces of the ventilation system, do not forget to clean the inlet air dampers and the recirculation damper.
6. All cavities should be cleaned with a cleaning agent
7. Remove the cabin filter and put the cover in place without a filter - to clean the air conditioner evaporator. The evaporator is located much further than the filter, so it will not be possible to directly spray it with a spray. But we still splash in his direction as much as possible. We put the fan in place, we also put the outer grille in place with a new filter. The filter element can be slightly bent.
This is what the new cap looks like on the grille.
8. In order to clean the evaporator more efficiently, you can set the recirculation mode, remove the cabin filter, puff abundantly towards the evaporator, quickly close the cabin filter cover and turn on the fan to full so that all the liquid-foam goes to the evaporator.
Note : A more effective way to clean the condenser evaporator is a can of foam with a straw inserted into the drain hole
9. After cleaning, put the cabin filter in place and assemble the glove box. Now clean air comes out of the air ducts, having passed through two filters instead of one.
