Check for an open in the field winding.

Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between slip rings ( Fig. 7.23 ).

Rated resistance (in the "cold" state): 2.7-3.1 ohms.

If the resistance tends to infinity, i.e. circuit is open, replace the rotor.

Rice. 7.24 . Checking the short circuit of the field winding to ground

Check if there is a short circuit of the excitation winding to "mass" ( Fig. 7.24 ).

Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the rotor pole and the slip ring.

If the resistance is 0 (circuit is closed), then replace the rotor.
