Parts and consumables:
- rags
- Coolant (PSA Longlife 9735.K_)
Notes:
Keep an eye on the coolant level at all times. Its sharp decrease or increase should be a signal for an immediate check of the engine cooling system. If the antifreeze in the Peugeot 207 car is freshly poured and suddenly suddenly quickly changed color to reddish-brown, then you were sold a fake, in which they “forgot” to add corrosion inhibitors. Replace the fluid as soon as possible before it has had time to corrode the aluminum parts of the cooling system.
Check the coolant level only on a cold engine.
The coolant is toxic, so be careful when handling it.
Useful advice:
Use the coolant grade recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Check with the dealer - the seller of the car, the brand of the liquid filled in your car. Do not mix liquids of different colors and different manufacturers. If you do not know the brand of the liquid filled in, and the liquid needs to be topped up, replace all the liquid in the cooling system.
The last digit in the Peugeot branded antifreeze number indicates the volume of the container. "K4" - 1l, "K1" - 2l, "K0" - 5l.
1. Place the Peugeot 207 on a flat horizontal surface, let the engine cool down and open the hood. The coolant reservoir is located on the right side of the engine compartment in the direction of the vehicle.
2. Visually check the coolant level in the expansion tank. The coolant level must be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the wall of the expansion tank. If the level is significantly lower, then it is necessary to add coolant.
3. To add coolant, turn counterclockwise and remove the expansion tank cap. Add coolant to the required level.
Useful advice:
The temperature of the coolant with the engine running reaches very high values. If you need to add coolant when the engine is at operating temperature, open the expansion tank cap slowly and carefully to release excess pressure.
Notes:
Do not fill the fluid reservoir above the “MAX” mark, as the volume will increase when the engine is running. When the Peugeot 207 engine is started, the expansion tank cap must be closed.
Coolant that has fallen on engine parts or paintwork must be removed with a rag.
4. Wrap a stopper of a broad tank, having turned it clockwise against the stop. Remove spilled liquid with a rag.
Note:
Close the expansion tank cap tightly. When the engine is running, the expansion tank is under pressure, so coolant may leak from a loose cap.
