Toyota Camry Expansion Tank

1. With a cold engine, look at the transparent expansion tank of the cooling system. The coolant level is satisfactory if it is between the "F" and "L" lines on the reservoir. If the level is low, add coolant.

2. The coolant level in the reservoir varies with engine temperature. But if the level is at or below the "L" line, add coolant. Raise the level to the "F" line.

3. If after topping up the coolant level drops in a short time, there may be a leak in the system. Visually inspect the radiator, hoses, coolant filler cap, radiator cap, drain cock and water pump.

Choice of coolant type.

The use of inappropriate coolants can damage the engine cooling system.

Be sure to use "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant" or an equivalent high quality ethylene glycol type fluid free of silicates, amines, nitrites and borates, formulated with long life hybrid organic acid technology (coolant hybrid organic acids with a long service life is a combination of organic acids with a low content of phosphates).

Toyota Super Long Life Coolant is a mixture containing 50% coolant and 50% deionized water. This coolant provides protection down to temperatures around -35°C.
