We carry out the adjustment of the parking brake drive after replacing the brake pads of the rear wheels, cables or the parking brake lever.
We hang out the rear wheels and securely fix the car on stands.
Warning: Use only factory-made stands to prevent the vehicle from falling.
We remove the lining of the field tunnel.
For clarity, the operations are shown with the seats removed.
Raising the parking brake lever, we remove the plug of the lever lining that covers the adjusting nut of the parking brake drive.
With a “10” wrench, we rotate the nut on the threaded tip of the front cable, adjusting the travel of the parking brake lever.
The parking brake lever travel should be 6-8 clicks (teeth in the ratchet sector).
When the lever is fully lowered, the suspended rear wheels should rotate freely, and when the lever is raised, they must be blocked.
According to the rules of the road, a properly adjusted parking brake must hold the car on a slope up to 23% inclusive.
