Note:

The direction of the headlight beams on the Nissan X-Trail should be such that the road in front of the car is well lit, and the dipped headlights on do not dazzle drivers traveling towards them.

There are 2 screws on the back of each headlight to adjust the headlights. With their help, you can adjust the direction of the light beam in the horizontal  1 and vertical  2  planes. When adjusting, a Phillips screwdriver is inserted into the hole from above.

The halogen headlights are equipped with an electrically operated manual headlight range control. It allows you to change the direction of the light beam in the vertical plane from the passenger compartment in accordance with the change in vehicle loading.

Place the car against a flat vertical wall at a distance of  2-3 m and turn on the dipped beam. The upper boundaries of the light rays should be at the same level and be clear.

Headlight testing is best done at night.

1. Check and, if necessary, correct the air pressure in the tires.

2. If necessary, wash the headlights and wipe them dry.

3. Place the fully fueled and equipped vehicle perpendicular to a smooth wall (eg garage) at a distance of 10 m.

Note:

Alternatively, you can install a sheet of plywood 1x2m in front of the car, observing the same conditions.

4. Have an assistant sit in the driver's seat. If this is not possible, put in place a load of about 75 kg. Rock the car until the suspension adjusts itself.

5. Set the headlight electrocorrector control to position "0".

6. Measure on the car the height of the headlight centers from the ground (distance h  on the screen) and the distance l  between the centers of the Nissan X-Trail headlights.

7. Mark the screen on the wall as shown.

8. Turn on the low beam headlights.

9. Raise the hood cover.

Note:

Adjust the direction of the light spot on each headlight one by one. Cover the second headlight with an opaque material during adjustment.

10. Cover one of the headlights with a piece of cardboard.

11. Rotating the adjusting screw with a Phillips screwdriver, align the upper horizontal border of the light beam with the line Г.

12. Using a Phillips screwdriver, turn the second adjusting screw to align the break in the upper border of the light beam with the vertical line A.

13. In the same way, adjust the dipped beam and the second Nissan X-Trail headlight.
