Assembling and installing the Hyundai Matrix front wheel hub

Instruments:

• Special tool puller 09568-34000
• adjustable wrench

Front wheel hub and steering knuckle details

Withdrawal

1. Remove the front wheel.

2. Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut securing the wheel drive shaft to the front wheel hub.

3. Remove the disc brake caliper assembly from the steering knuckle and hang it with wire from the front suspension strut.

4. Remove the wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle.

5. Using the special tool (puller 09568-34000), disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the steering knuckle.

Attention:

To prevent the puller (09568-34000) from jumping off, first tie it with a rope or wire.

6. Disconnect the front suspension strut from the steering knuckle.

7. Disconnect the wheel drive shaft from the wheel hub.

8. Using the special tool (09568-34000 puller), disconnect the steering knuckle from the ball joint of the lower suspension arm.

9. Remove the hub and steering knuckle assembly.

Installation

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Attention:

Before installing the wheel drive shaft nut, install the washer with the convex side facing out.
