We remove the knock sensor for replacement and when repairing the engine.

Knock sensors on engines 1.4 and 1.6 l R4 Duratec 16V, as well as 1.6 l R4 16V Duratec Ti-VCT are screwed into the wall of the cylinder block in its upper part, under the intake manifold in areas between the 1st and 2nd m, as well as the 3rd and 4th cylinders. On engines 1.8 and 2.0 l R4 Duratec-HE 16V, the knock sensor is installed in the area between the 2nd and 3rd cylinders on the left side of the engine.
