Remove the front bumper with the radiator grill for its replacement or access to repair dirty caps do not open and close well.

Removing the front bumper and grille
1. Open the hood , pry off the latches with a screwdriver and remove the four caps for fastening the radiator grille lining (the first photo is a release before 08.2009, the second is from 09.2009).


2.1. (issue before 08.2009) Remove the radiator grille assembly with the trim, releasing it additionally from the three clips that secure the lower part of the grille.



2.2. (issue from 09.2009) Remove the grille trim.

3.1. (issue before 08.2009) Unscrew the clips and remove three clips on one and the other side of the fender liner attachment to the front bumper.

Note:
To remove the upper piston, it is necessary to bend the edge of the additional fender liner.
3.2. (issue from 09.2009) Unscrew the clips and remove three clips from one and the other side of the fender liner to the front bumper.

Note:
If there are additional wheel arch liners, the upper piston is hidden under it.

4.1. (issue before 08.2009) Use a screwdriver to pry the retainer of the front bumper upper fastening clip and remove the clip. Similarly, remove the remaining three pistons of the upper bumper mount.

4.2. (issue from 09.2009) Unscrew and remove the three bolts of the upper mounting of the radiator grille assembly with the front bumper.

5. Remove the lower bumper mounting clips: 4 on the right and 4 on the left (red ovals in the photo below), and also unscrew five bolts (blue ovals in the photo below) securing the front engine mudguard to the front bumper.

Note:
Below are more detailed photos of the placement of the anther fasteners to the front bumper.



6. Inside the bumper, disconnect the wiring harness from the fog lamp connector.

7. Squeeze the clips on the headlight washer hose quick connector and separate the hoses.

8. (issue since 09.2009) Directly in the center, under the number, pry off the plastic plug with a screwdriver and remove it.

9. Turn out the central bolt of fastening of a bumper (the first photo - release before 08.2009, the second - from 09.2009).


10. Carefully, overcoming the resistance of the latches, remove the side latches that secure the bumper to the fender (the first photo is a release before 08.2009, the second is from 09.2009).


11. (issue before 08.2009) Move the front bumper to the side, squeeze the clamps and remove the headlight washer hose holder from the upper transverse panel.

12. Now you can remove the Outlander bumper by pulling it towards you.


Removing grilles from the front bumper
1.1. (issue before 08.2009) Unscrew the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver (red ovals in the photo below), and also remove the caps (blue ovals in the photo below) fastening the guide casing and radiator grille to the Mitsubishi Outlander.

1.2. (issue before 08.2009) Remove the grille from the bumper.
1.3. (issue before 08.2009) Remove the piston with a screwdriver (see the photo below for its placement) and remove the side grille from the front bumper.


1.4. (issue before 08.2009) Remove the second grill in the same way.

2.1. (issue from 09.2009) Remove the right fog lamp power wire, and also unscrew the 23 screws securing the upper and lower radiator grilles with a Phillips screwdriver.

2.2. (issue from 09.2009) Remove the radiator grilles from the bumper.


Assembly and installation of the front bumper and grille
1. Assemble the front bumper and install it in the reverse order of removal.
