Removal and installation of the Audi A4 door handle

Front door handle:

•    1 - door handle support;
•    2 - door lock;
•    3 - drive rod;
•    4 - bolt, 20Nm;
•    5 - lock cylinder cover;
•    6 - lock cylinder;
•    7 - door handle;
•    8 - drive lever;
•    9 - clamp holder;
•    10 - valve;
•    11 - door handle.

1 . Removing the door handle. Remove the door trim, refer to Removing and installing front door trim and Removing and installing rear door trim .

Note:

Removal and installation of the front and rear door handles are not fundamentally different.

2 . Remove the power window frame from the door, refer to Removing and installing front door window frame and Removing and installing power window .

3 . Remove the drive rod ( 3 ) from the clamp holder ( 9 ).

4 . Insert a screwdriver from the inside through the door panel, tilt in the direction of the arrow and release the latch ( 10 ) at the door handle ( 11 ).

5 . Disconnect the door handle from the support and remove from the door.

6 . Door handle installation. Reinstall the door handle and secure it to the support.

7 . Connect the drive rod ( 3 ) to the clamp ( 9 ), tilt the clamp 90° and fix it on the drive rod.

8 . Install the door trim, refer to the relevant section .
