The steering column is one of the most important elements in ensuring road safety, so replace the shafts or column assembly installed in the steering column if the following defects are present:

- deformation or damage to the intermediate shaft, play in the cardan joints, damage to its terminal connections with the steering gear shaft and with the steering shaft;

- deformation or damage to the steering shaft and steering column housing, damage to the spline connection of the steering shaft with the steering wheel hub;

- damage to the steering column adjustment mechanism.
You will need: a key "for 10", socket heads "for 10", "for 13".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
2. Remove the bottom overlay of the panel of devices

3. Remove a casing of a steering column.

4. Remove the steering wheel, having previously installed it in the position corresponding to the rectilinear movement.

5. Remove understeering switches in gathering with a contact ring.

6. Disconnect the right...

7. ... and the left block of the wiring harnesses from the ignition switch block.

8. Disconnect from a steering column the holder of a plait of wires and take a plait aside.

9. Turn out a coupling bolt of connection of an intermediate shaft of a steering column with a shaft of the steering mechanism.

10. Remove the bolt...

11. ... and remove the lower hinge from the steering shaft.

12. Remove the top two...

13. ... and two lower steering column mounting bolts.

14. Remove a steering column, having disconnected a shaft of a column and a steering shaft.
15. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
