You will need: socket heads "for 8", "for 10", a screwdriver with a flat
blade.
On a 1.6L Duratec Ti-VCT engine, do the following.
1. Reduce the pressure in the fuel supply system.
2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
3. Disconnect the hose 6 (Fig. 5.32) of the crankcase ventilation system from the cylinder head cover.

4. Disconnect the fuel supply pipeline from the fuel rail by squeezing the clamps of the coupling 8 (see Fig. 5.32).
5. Turn out two screws 2 (fig. 5.32 see) fastenings of holders of the pipeline of giving of fuel and take the pipeline aside.
6. Disconnect from the valve of system of change of phases of gas distribution of an inlet camshaft block 7 of a plait of wires, squeezing clamps of its fastening.
7. Disconnect block 3 of the wiring harness from the intake camshaft phase sensor by squeezing the latches of its fastening.
8. Having pressed the clamps of the injector wiring harness blocks with a screwdriver, as shown in fig. 5.33, disconnect the ramp pads 1 (see Fig. 5.32) of the electrical connectors of the injectors from the injectors and take the ramp aside.
9. Turn out two screws of fastening of a fuel stage 2 (fig. 5.32 see) and remove a fuel stage.
THE NOTE
If at removal of a stage atomizers remain in an inlet collector, take them from there.
10. Install the fuel rail and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal, replacing the injector O-rings.
THE NOTE
Before installation grease sealing rings of nozzles with engine oil.
11. Start up the engine and check up tightness of connections of pipelines and consolidations of nozzles.
On a 2.0L Duratec Ti-VCT engine, do the following.
1. Reduce the pressure in the fuel supply system.
Rice. 5.33. Disconnecting the electrical connectors from the rail injectors.
2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
3. Remove the air filter housing.
4. Squeeze the retainer and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the fuel rail pressure sensor.
5. Remove the intake manifold.
6. Pry off the retainer with a screwdriver and disconnect the excess pressure relief pipe from the fuel rail.
7. Remove the high pressure tube.
NOTE
Be sure to replace the O-rings each time the high pressure tube is removed.
8. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove a fuel rail.
WARNING
Do not remove the fuel rail pressure sensor. Changes in assembly with a ramp.
9. Install the fuel rail in the reverse order of removal.
10. Start up the engine and check up tightness of connections of pipelines.
