Notes:

The accessory drive belt does not require tension adjustment during its entire service life, as it has an automatic tensioner in its design. If, due to excessive wear or stretching of the belt, the tensioner is not able to maintain its normal tension, the belt is replaced.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2.  To access the removal of the accessory belt, it is necessary to remove the front right wheel and its fender liner (read the article “ Removing the front fender liner (locker) Peugeot 207 ”).

3. To remove the accessory belt, remove the tension roller by unscrewing its fastening bolt.

4. Check up a tension roller on presence of cracks and chips.

Note:

If the tension roller is defective, replace it with a new one.

5.  Remove the accessory belt from the pulleys.

Note:

If the accessory drive belt is to be reused, mark an arrow on the back (non-working) side of the belt with a marker to indicate the direction of rotation in a clockwise direction.

6. If there is noticeable wear, cracks in the accessory belt, replace it with a new one.

7. Install the belt on the pulleys, making sure that the belt is dressed without distortion. Reinstall the tension roller, put a belt on it and tighten the tension roller bolt until it stops. Reassemble all previously removed parts in reverse order.

Useful advice:

To check the alignment of the belt grooves and the grooves on the accessory pulleys, rotate the belt several times.
