- towing eyes;
- wheel bolt wrench.
Warning:
Opel Astra vehicles equipped with an exhaust gas catalytic converter must not be started by towing or pushing. This can lead to overheating and damage to the converter. If the battery is discharged, do not attempt to start the engine by towing or pushing the vehicle.
Towing a car Opel Astra H
1. Open the trunk.
2. Remove the floor mat.
3. Remove the spare wheel.
4. Remove the jack and tool box from the spare wheel well.
5. Remove the towing eyelet A and the spanner B for the wheel bolts from the box.
6. To install the towing eyelet at the front, press down on the lower edge of the plug in the front bumper on the right side of the vehicle.
7. So that its clips disengage from the bumper.
8. Move the plug to the side.
9. Screw in the towing eyelet by hand, turning it counterclockwise (left hand thread on the towing eyelet).
10. Tighten all the way using the wrench as a wrench.
11. Attach the tow cable hook to the lug.
12. To install the towing eyelet at the rear, press the lower edge of the plug in the rear bumper on the right side of the vehicle to disengage the spring clip from the bumper.
13. Remove the plug.
14. Screw in the towing eyelet by hand, turning it counterclockwise (left-hand thread on the towing eyelet) and tighten until it stops using a wrench as a wrench.
15. Attach the tow cable hook to the lug.
16. Remove the lugs in reverse order.
Note:
Before towing your Opel, set the key in the ignition switch to the "I" position and turn on the warning light in accordance with the Rules of the Road. Set the manual transmission control lever (automatic transmission control lever) to neutral position ("N"). If possible, tow the vehicle with the engine running so that the force on the brake pedal and steering wheel does not increase.
Warning:
The vacuum brake booster and the electrohydraulic power steering function only when the Astra engine is running. Therefore, take into account the fact that when towing a car with an inoperative engine, the force on the brake pedal and steering wheel increases sharply.
