I was puzzled by the elimination of the creak that occurs when the steering wheel is turned sharply. Previously, it was only in the winter season, and now in the summer a distant grunt was heard on the cold. I ordered a heat-resistant water-repellent silicone grease Step Up.
And proceeded to parse the anther. I’ll say that I did all the work in vain, since it was enough just to remove the lining and spray it there. But, as they say, you learn from your mistakes.
Removed the plastic cover
Unscrewed the bolt
Took off the cardan
pulled out the boot and took it apart. It consists of two rubber bands and plastic with a blue ring that I forgot to photograph. All rubber bands are dry without any lubrication and clean
I collected the boot back, inserted the blue ring that is adjacent to the shaft itself, sprayed everything with silicone and assembled it back.
Now there is silence in the cabin and the steering wheel, it seems to me, has become a little easier to spin, as it was on the new one.
