Warning:
The vacuum booster cannot be repaired; in the event of a malfunction, it must be replaced as an assembly.
After removing the vacuum booster, the self-locking nuts of its fastening must be replaced with new ones.
Checking the vacuum booster
1. With the engine off, press the brake pedal 5-6 times.
2. Keeping the brake pedal depressed, start the engine. The brake pedal should move forward.
3. If this does not happen, check the operation of the check valve and the tightness of the vacuum hose 6 (see Fig. Vacuum booster with the main cylinder). The check valve should only allow air to flow in one direction.
Removing the vacuum booster
1. Remove the brake master cylinder as described here .
2. Disconnect vacuum hose 6 (see Fig. Vacuum booster with master cylinder) from vacuum booster 10.
3. Turn away a bolt 1 of fastening and remove an air duct 2 blowing of legs of the driver. On models equipped with the Comfort system, remove the central control unit 3.
4. Remove the brake light switch 15 (see Fig. Pedal assembly ).
5. Disconnect the brake pedal from the vacuum booster pusher as described here .
6. Turn away four nuts 2 (fig. Fastening of pedal assembly see ) fastenings of the vacuum booster from inside salon.
7. Remove the vacuum booster 10 (see Fig. Vacuum booster with the main cylinder) from the side of the engine compartment.
Installing a vacuum booster
1. Install the vacuum booster in the reverse order, while replacing the self-locking nuts 2 (see Fig. Pedal assembly mounting ) or 8 (see Fig. Vacuum booster with the main cylinder) of its fastening with new ones.
