Where is the brake pedal sensor located on a Nissan X-Trail
On a car with automatic transmission, the brake pedal position sensor is integrated into one unit with the brake light switch. When the switch stem is recessed, the contacts of the switch and the sensor are open, and when the stem is extended, the contacts are closed.
The brake pedal position sensor on the Nissan X-Trail is installed under the instrument panel on the pedal assembly bracket.
Nissan X-Trail Brake Position Sensor Replacement
1. Raise the hood and secure it with the stop.
2. Using a 10 mm socket, disconnect the wire from the "negative" terminal of the battery.
3. Using a Torx T20 wrench, remove the mounting bolt.
4. Remove from the latches and remove the side trim.
5. Pull out of the 7 clips and disconnect the trim from the instrument panel.
6. Press the latch, and disconnect the brake pedal position sensor Nissan X-Trail block of wires.
7. Rotate the sensor clockwise and remove it from the holder in the hole in the pedal assembly bracket.
8. Replace the Nissan X-Trail brake pedal sensor with a new one.
9. Install the sensor in the holder so that its body touches the pedal stop. Rotate the sensor 45º counterclockwise.
