Note:
The solenoid valve for the variable valve timing system is installed in the engine cylinder head.
On HR15DE and HR16DE engines, the solenoid valve is located at the front of the cylinder head, on the CR14DE engine , at the rear.
The valve regulates the oil pressure supplied to the timing actuator mounted on the front (or rear) end of the intake camshaft.
Replacing the solenoid valve phase change Nissan Note
1. The decorative casing is fixed to the inlet pipe with two bolts. Using a 10mm head, unscrew the 2 engine cover mounting bolts and remove them from the holes.
2. Pulling towards you, remove from the latches and remove the decorative cover of the Nissan Note engine.
3. With a 10 mm head, unscrew the nut and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the electromagnetic valve.
5. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the electromagnetic valve by a head on 8 mm.
6. Remove the solenoid valve from the cylinder head.
7. Replace the Nissan Note solenoid valve with a new one.
8. Install the new camshaft solenoid valve and decorative engine cover in the reverse order of removal.
