Replacing bulbs in the front headlight unit Hyundai ix35

Tools:

• L-shaped socket wrench 10 mm

Parts and consumables:

• Low / high beam lamp HIR2 (55 W.) (18647-61566) - 2 pcs.
• Turn signal lamp PY21 / 5W (21 W.) (18642-21007N) - 2 pcs.
• Side light bulb W5W (5W) (18643-05009L) - 2 pcs.
• Alcohol (if necessary)
• Rags (if necessary)
• Gloves (if necessary)

Note:

This article describes how to replace bulbs on a Hyundai ix35 after 2013.

To replace the low / high beam bulb on the Hyundai ix35, do the following:​

1.  Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Open the hood and unscrew the low/high beam lamp cover counterclockwise.

3. Turn the lamp socket counterclockwise, disconnect the wire block from the lamp cover and remove the lamp.

WARNING:

Do not touch the lamp bulb with your fingers, as the lamp gets very hot and greasy stains will cause the bulb to darken. Handle the bulb by the bulb only with clean gloves or a clean cloth. If there are still stains on the lamp, remove them with a cloth dampened with alcohol.

4. Install the dipped/main beam bulb in the reverse order of removal.

To replace the turn signal lamp on the Hyundai ix35, do the following:

1.  Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Turn the cover counterclockwise and remove the bulb holder.

3. Press the bulb, turn it counterclockwise and remove it from the socket.

4.  Install the front turn signal bulb in the reverse order of removal.

To replace the parking light bulb on a Hyundai ix35, do the following:

1.  Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Turn the cover counterclockwise and remove the bulb holder.

3. Remove the bulb from the socket.

4. Establish a lamp of dimensional fire in an order, the return to removal.
