Replacing the light bulb in the glove box Mazda 3 (VK) 2003 - 2009

Tools:

• Collar for end nozzle
• Nozzle for crank 8 mm
• Small flat screwdriver
• Plastic spatula

Parts and consumables:

• Cloth gloves
• rags
• Alcohol
• Original lamp W5W (12V/5W) Mazda 9970-LL-W5W or Mazda 9970-16-050

Note:

Do not touch the bulb with your hands! Since the halogen lamp gets quite hot, touch marks can cause the bulb to darken or explode.

It is recommended to take the Mazda 3 glove box bulb by the bulb with a clean rag or clean gloves.

If you notice greasy spots on the flask, remove them with alcohol.

Do not install a lamp of higher power than indicated in the instructions.

A halogen light bulb is a great danger when dropped! The gas in the bulb is under high pressure, and if the bulb breaks, there is a possibility of injury from fragments.

Put the used light bulb in a box and throw it away in a place that is not accessible to people.

To replace the light bulb in the glove box Mazda 3, do the following:

1.  Open the hood, and disconnect the wire from the "negative" terminal of the battery.

2.  Pulling towards you, remove the central decorative overlay of the instrument panel (it is held on by 4 clips).

3.  With an 8 mm head, remove the 2 screws securing the glove box.

4.  Using a thin screwdriver, pull out the retainer of the side trim holder.

5. Remove facing of a threshold of a body.

6. Remove the side trim by sliding it inside the doorway. 

7. Move the entire structure of the glove box towards you and down (the car door must be open).

8. Method one:

1. Turn the glove box light bulb socket to the left and pull it out of the dome light.

2. Replace the bulb in the Mazda 3 glove compartment and put everything back together.

Method two:

1. Unscrew the bolt securing the lampshade.

2. Disconnect the cover from the body of the glove box, remove the plastic diffuser and wipe everything.

3. Without disconnecting the cartridge from the ceiling, unscrew the bulb itself. 

4. Replace the bulb in the Mazda 3 glove compartment with a working one.

5. Assemble the structure back.
