Note:

The CR14DE and HR16DE Nissan Note engines are equipped with the same lubrication system.

According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the oil in the Nissan Note engine is replaced after 1 year of operation or every 15 thousand kilometers (whichever comes first).

If the vehicle is used in heavy-duty, large city or dusty areas,  change the Nissan Note engine oil and filter every 6 months (or every 7500 km).

The engines use oils of a quality level not lower than API SJ, SL, ILSAC GF-3, viscosity grade SAE 5W-40,  5W-30.

Nissan Note engine oil change

1.  Warm up the engine to a temperature of about 70 ° C and drive a few kilometers by car (this will contribute to a more active draining of the used fluid).

2.  Install the transport on a viewing ditch or overpass. If this is not possible, use a jack with racks.

Note:

In the absence of a special key for unscrewing the oil filter, you can use a universal key or a puller. If there is no such tool, pierce the filter housing with a screwdriver and, using it as a lever, unscrew the filter.

Punch the filter as close to the bottom as possible so as not to damage the fitting.

You can also use a strip of coarse
sandpaper folded in half, wrapping it around the filter and moving it out of place with your hands.

3. Replace the Nissan Note oil filter with a new one.

9. Pull out the dipstick. Wipe it with a clean cloth and put it back in place.

10. Pull out the dipstick again. The oil level must be between the "L"  and "H" marks on the dipstick .

11. If the oil level is below or closer to the  “L” mark,  it is necessary to add engine oil to the Nissan Note engine.

12. After the oil level reaches the required level, tighten the filler cap.

Note:

The oil level in the engine crankcase should not be higher than the maximum mark, otherwise there may be leakage through gaskets and seals, as well as increased consumption of engine fluid.

13. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes (the emergency oil pressure drop warning light should go out 2-3 seconds after starting the engine).

14. While the engine is running, check for oil leaks from under the drain plug and oil filter. Tighten the plug and oil filter if necessary.
