Note:
According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the coolant on the Nissan X-Trail should be replaced for the first time after 200 thousand kilometers or 10 years, then every 100 thousand kilometers or 5 years.
The coolant is toxic, so be careful when handling it.
Change the coolant only when the engine is cold.
What fluid to fill in the Nissan X-Trail cooling system
The engine cooling system uses antifreeze, which consists of ethylene glycol, additives and water. It has a high boiling point and a low freezing point.
Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that the use of poor quality coolant leads to costly engine repairs!
The manufacturer recommends using only genuine Nissan coolant, such as the Nissan L250.
Coolant L248 Premix antifreeze, which replaced the Nissan L250 , is also suitable .
The new series of antifreeze is made on the basis of ethylene glycol with the addition of additives, without the use of alcohol.

Replacing the coolant on the Nissan X-Trail
1. Install the car on a flyover or other elevation.
2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis.
3. To relieve pressure in the Nissan X-Trail cooling system, slowly turn the radiator cap counterclockwise.
4. Remove the cover.
5. Turn off and remove a cover of a broad tank.
6. Get under the car. Use a flat screwdriver to pull out the caps and remove the protection.
7. Place a container under the Nissan X-Trail radiator drain valve.
8. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the drain bolt on the radiator.
9. Wait until the antifreeze is completely drained on the Nissan X-Trail.
10. Replace the rubber gasket on the drain bolt and screw the bolt back on.
11. Fill the engine cooling system by slowly pouring coolant into the Nissan X-Trail radiator to the level of the vapor tube.
Note:
To prevent air locks from forming, pour antifreeze into the radiator very slowly (filling speed should not exceed 2 liters per minute).
12. Close the radiator cap tightly.
Note:
When the engine is running, the cooling system is under pressure, so coolant may leak from under a loosely wrapped plug or the plug may be torn off.
13. Add antifreeze to the Nissan X-Trail expansion tank up to the “MAX” mark.
Note:
Do not fill the fluid reservoir above the MAX mark, as the volume will increase when the engine is running.
14. Tightly wrap the reservoir lid. If antifreeze is spilled on wires, painted or plastic body parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean rag.
15. Warm up the engine to operating temperature (electric fans should turn on at least 2 times) and stop. When the engine is cool, check the level of antifreeze in the expansion tank. If necessary, bring it up to standard.
16. After a few days of car operation, after replacing the coolant with a Nissan X-Trail, check its level. If necessary, bring it to the level.
