Check the brake light switch 1 on the brake pedal bracket. Squeeze out a brake pedal against the stop. With the switch stem fully protruding, the brake signals should be on, and when the stem is depressed by 4–5 mm (press with your finger), the lights should go out. Otherwise, the switch must be replaced. To replace the switch, unscrew the lower fastening nut 2 and remove the switch by disconnecting the wires from it. When installing a new switch, adjust its position with two nuts so that at a quarter of the brake pedal travel, the brake lights are on, and when the pedal is released, they go out.
