Below are engine control wiring diagrams for a better understanding of the functionality and dependence of electrical circuits when repairing a Toyota RAV4 engine.
Scheme 1. Engine control system:
1 - fuse AM2-2 (7.5 A);
2 - fuse AM-2 (30 A);
3 - fuse AM 1 (7.5 A);
4 - fuse IG2 (15 A);
5 - IGN fuse (7.5 A);
6 - ignition switch (lock);
7 - selector lever switch;
8 - starter switch;
9 - electronic block of the body;
10, 11 - relay ST;
12 - switch;
13 - relay IG2;
14 - relay ST CUT.
Scheme 2. Engine control system:
1 - fuse EFI MAIN (20 A);
2 - IGN fuse (7.5 A);
3 - ETCS fuse (10 A):
4 - ignition coil of the 1st cylinder;
5 - ignition coil of the 2nd cylinder;
6 - ignition coil of the 3rd cylinder;
7 - ignition coil of the 4th cylinder;
8 - EFI MAIN relay;
9 - C/OPN relay;

4 - ECU-B fuse (10 A):
5, 6 - electronic control unit for automatic transmission;
7 - switch of the control lamp for turning on the parking brake;
8 - instrument cluster.
