Cleaning the throttle body on Ford Focus 2
Decided to clean the throttle body today. In principle, there are no problems, the arrow does not jump, the car does not stall and does not twitch, as I regularly do this procedure. As a rule, every 10 thousand, combining this with each oil change, but then something I wanted to clean it today (probably because it’s a day off), although, according to the plan, it should be about 1.5-2 months later when I change my oil again.
I bought a special agent (although, in fact, everything is perfectly washed with both ordinary white spirit and acetone), and went to remove the throttle.
This is what it looked like after cleaning:
And this is what it was before:
The back side is dirtier than the outside
Removing the throttle valve Ford Focus 2
In principle, everything is quite easy and uncomplicated:
1. Remove the cover from the engine and disconnect the "+" terminal from the battery.
2. Using a conventional screwdriver, unscrew the duct clamps on both sides and remove it.
3. With a key with a head of 8, unscrew 4 bolts from the throttle valve and remove it.
4. Disconnect the throttle power connector. To do this, pull up the red latch from the bottom (carefully, it is very thin and there is a risk of breaking it).
5. We take out the rubber seal and clean the Ford Focus 2 damper with a tool.
Other means can be used
Notes:
The only thing I usually have difficulty with is pulling out the red damper power latch when you remove it, and then, when you put it back, install the damper on the metal plate to which it is attached on one side.
The whole operation, including removal, cleaning and installation back, takes me about 2.5-3 hours.
When everything was connected, I put on the terminal and started the car. Turnovers first kept around 1200, and then, after about 7-8 minutes, they dropped and froze somewhere around 800. I went and drove around the area for about 30 minutes to get everything set up and calibrated.
I did not notice any changes in the behavior of the car, since before that everything was fine. If you do it regularly, then it will be.
